About the Author

Hello! I’m Ekaterina — Assistant Director of Sales at a four-star hotel in St. Petersburg, working across corporate accounts, MICE, and VIP protocol.

Over the years, I’ve learned that great hotels are built not on standards and procedures alone, but on thousands of thoughtful details that guests rarely notice — yet always remember. A door that closes with the right weight. A greeting that lands exactly right. A rate structure that quietly makes sense.

The Room 108 began as a place to collect those details.

Here you’ll find reflections on hospitality, hotel operations, service culture, marketing, and design — some articles practical, others exploring the psychology and economics behind the industry, all circling back to one question: what actually makes a stranger feel at home.

I write in English because this industry speaks it fluently, and because I’m always building — as a professional, and as someone shaping a career without borders. I believe the best hotels succeed not because they’re luxurious, but because they understand people.

This website is my notebook for that idea: a space to observe, learn, and share, one detail at a time.

Welcome to The Room 108.
